Where We Work
Craighead County is home ground, and it has two county seats: Jonesboro up on the Ridge and Lake City out on the St. Francis River. From there we run north into Greene County, northwest up the US-63 corridor into Lawrence County, south down I-555 into Poinsett County, and east into Mississippi County across Buffalo Island.
The ground changes fast on that map. Crowley's Ridge carries deep loess and mixed hardwood, and it stands high enough that slope and erosion drive the method. Roll off either side and you are in the St. Francis Lowlands, flat irrigated cropland where the work is fencerows, turn rows, ditch banks, and access to wells and levees. Southeast toward Trumann and Caraway the country turns into Sunken Lands bottom, seasonal water and standing hardwood, and the calendar matters more than the machine.
Brookland and Bono sit close in on the ridge corridor and pick up most of the wooded-lot work. Bay, Lake City, and Monette are farm ground. Walnut Ridge adds river bottom timber along the Strawberry, Spring, and Black. Caraway started life as a lumber camp, and the cut-over bottom around it still grows brush like it means it.
